Recollections I claim my readers' kind indulgence also, I cannot always vouch for exact dates, as it has been my custom to keep very few programmes or press-notices. Several letters from artists I find, after all these years, still in my possession, but scores, from time to time, have been annexed by autograph collectors. From those I still have, I may have occasion to quote.
