This textbook has been designed primarily to assist students preparing for surveying examinations. Although the text is devoted to the solution of problems typically encountered in such examinations, each chapter commences with basic theory. Frequently the solutions themselves are introduced with mention of salient features involved, before being developed in accordance with theoretical principles. Some simple BASIC computer programs are also contained in the book, to cover topics of frequent usage.;An appreciable number of the worked examples and problems have been taken from past examination papers and their sources have been duly indicated.
