Smithsonian on Disc 1995 Catalogue of the Smithsonian Institution Libraries on CD-Rom

The Smithsonian Institute Library (SIL) provides a centralized library system serving museums and research centres around the world. This CD-ROM contains more than 418,000 records - the entire on-line holdings of the SIL. A search on, for instance, ritual masks, will bring up materials from art, archaeology, ethnography, history, religion. The CD comprises records from 19 SIL member libraries and selected Smithsonian-affiliated libraries, including: Anthropology, Botany, Central Reference and Loan Services, Cooper-Hewitt National Museum of Design, Dibner Library,Harvard-S mithsonian Centre for Astro-physics, Horticulture, Museum Reference Centre, Museum, National Museum of African Art, National Museum of American Art Library, National Museum of American History, National Museum Natural History, National Portrait Gallery Library, National Zoological Park, and Smithsonian Environmental Research Center.
