Publisher's Synopsis
Some dictionaries define Slumgullion as a meat stew, in my family the word was used to describe a more festive meal of whatever was available at the time, served for the evening meal. Here is presented twenty-five independent stories or essays served between the covers of this book, that chronicle my memories of interesting people, brief vignettes of my life's experiences, commentaries on current events, and stories told to me by others. Many may find that my life's early experiences are similar to theirs because we do live separate lives together. When seen through the lens that age gives old men, the views that were once so sharp and viewed in black and white by the boy I once was, are now less resolved and are seen in varying shades of gray, with the players who animate them highlighted in the colors of remembrance.
