Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Slaves of the Lamp, Being the Adventures of Yorke Norroy in His Quest, of the Four Jade Plates: A Manhattan Nights Entertainment
I began Slaves of the Lamp in 1912 and it was pub lished serially in 1913-1914. But while it was appearing in the magazines, I was completing God's Man and I yielded to my publishers' desires to bring out the novel first, delaying the romance. For it so happened that both dealt with the same problem - God's Man realistically, - Slaves of the Lamp romantically.
