It is with sadness that the record must be made of the departure from this life of three Vice Presidents of the Society.
Hon. Joseph B. Crockett, elected in 1854, long held a leading position at the bar at St. Louis, and removing, in 1852, to San Fran cisco, he soon became one the justices of the Supreme Court of Cali formia. Acting from the highest appreciation of the judicial func tions he distinguished himself as a judge, and was patient, earnest, painstaking and conscientious in his public duties.
