Publisher's Synopsis
The current explanation of English Grammar suffers from an overdose of band aid applications. William holds an M.Ed. in Teaching English in a Second Language, a post baccalaureate Diploma in TESL, and a B.Ed. in Education. He spent twenty seven years teaching ESL/ESP/EFL/EAL & ABE while searching for a better explanation of the grammar of English. This book presents his journey of discovery (Part 1), the alternate theory of English grammar contrasted with the current paradigm (Part 2), and an explanation of his website (Part 3) which consists of four Courses: course 1 - A Sound Approach to Learning English (for reading, spelling and pronunciation listening and vocabulary); Course 2 - Preposterous Prepositions (the key to teaching English); Course 3 - The Alternate View of English Grammar (focused on verbs and a few other problems); and Course 4 (consisting of stories with which to practice the lessons presented in Courses 1-3). The text is aimed at the lay teacher of English. It addresses integrating the changes into the current paradigm. and finally presents some of the maddening aspects of the journey. This is still a work in progress.
