Publisher's Synopsis
Tarius has has achieved much in his short life. He has escaped slavery, survived the ambush and destruction of the White Wolf Legion, battled demons in the undervaults of the College of Magic at Etrus, gained revenge and recompense for a decade of enslavement and finally stolen a ship to make his way back home to the Islands of his birth. He arrives home only to find the true cost of his enslavement is much greater than he first realised.
Coming to terms with this he swears to protect his fellow islanders from the scourge of slavery, a task that ultimately involves delving the depths of an ancient silver mine to unlock the secrets of its mysterious closure a century ago. His plans to protect Hanokan from slavery depends on reopening this old mine and being once more able to extract the valuable silver. The problem is that certain parties have vested interests in him failing at that task. Added to this other forces, beyond the shores of Hanokan, are seemingly at work attempting to thwart his plans: Powerful merchants, greedy princes, sinister fire lords and their ancient prophecy. Can Tarius thwart these powerful forces and go on to create a better future for the Hanokan people?
