Short bowel syndrome (SIS) is characterised by intestinal insufficiency, most often the result of extensive intestinal resection; it causes severe hydroelectrolytic and nutritional disorders such as vitamin deficiency and malnutrition. The primary objectives of this book are to explain and analyse the various forms of clinical and surgical management, both traditional and innovative.
