Publisher's Synopsis
When the US Army reassigned Vance Hunter from Indiana to the San Francisco Bay Area, he should have been overjoyed about trading the cold Midwest for the beauty and sun of Northern California. However, he was suffering from a broken heart over his recent divorce and feeling the agony of leaving his two children behind. He was also grieving because he had impregnated a second woman but lost the baby through abortion. Vance was lonely, fearful and ashamed but he had two things going for him: he was saved by Jesus and he had a job. He would later meet Reverend Robert Washington in a Bay Area church and the two began a lifelong, iron clad friendship. After more than thirty years of sharpening each other, as well as those in their churches and communities, Rev and Vance know that God called them to leave a legacy of building loving relationships and the spirit for greater achievement in themselves and those they touch.
