Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Shakespeare Commentaries, Vol. 1 of 2: Translated Under the Author's Superintendence by F. E. Bunnètt
There are in the present day a number of writings upon literature and men of letters, which, undertaken in consequence of some chance impulse are treated with pas sing interest, are received as superficial novelties, and read with transient curiosity.
Not so would I wish myself or others to estimate these re?ections on Shakespeare. I cannot desire to offer them as a tri?ing recreation, for they treat of one of the richest and most important subjects, which could be chosen.
