The authors' poems beginning in the 1970s and ending in 2017 say a lot about America during a time of major transition. Even more important, however, is his willingness to share his personal feelings concerning his family, the people in it; those who have lived and those who have died. It is sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but always honest. For people who normally turn away from poetry, this may very well be a pleasant surprise.
