Dame Ninette de Valois, O.M., C.H., D.B.E., was a former member of the Diaghilev Company in Paris and founder in London in the 1930s of the Sadler's Wells Ballet Company, later to become the world-famous Royal Ballet Organisation, and its School.
This edition of poems, written at various times throughout her long and distinguished career in the theatre, is published on behalf of the Friends of Birmingham Royal Ballet to celebrate the hundredth year of her life.
