North Africa is now under Allied control. General Eisenhower has been ordered to invade Sicily with the British Eighth Army and General Patton's new Seventh Army. But where do the Allies go from here? The Americans want to head directly to northern France while the British desire a Mediterranean strategy. In the Pacific, Australian and American forces continue to drive deeper into New Guinea, while Admiral Halsey pushes further up the Solomons from Guadalcanal. The American war machine grows stronger each day but developing war-winning capabilities take time. The Science Team continues to develop solutions to lingering logistics and scientific problems.
