Publisher's Synopsis
Lee Prather entered the world on August 5, 1942, in Oldham County, Kentucky. As a child, Lee learned about the importance of family and a strong work ethic. After graduating from Oldham County High School in 1960, Lee found himself working on the side of the road. Realizing there had to be something better than cutting bushes, Lee quit his job and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. In December 1961, Lee was assigned to the USS Borie (DD-704). A brotherhood was formed among Lee and his friends on the Borie. Their adventures on that destroyer included playing war games in Guantanamo Bay and being part of the blockade during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Those adventures and more are documented in Secret Clearance: A Kentuckian, A Destroyer, and A Brotherhood.
