In my former report, reasons were submitted somewhat at length, for excluding from my annual narrative of the operations of the sur vey, any detailed account of the facts ascertained during each season, and for presenting the whole of the results in one mass at the close of the survey, in the form of a comprehensive and properly matured description of the mineral resources of the State.
