Publisher's Synopsis

Searchlights for Spelling is a comprehensive spelling scheme for Years 2-6/Primary 3-7 that covers all the word-level spelling objectives of the National Literacy Strategy and meets the requirements of the National Curriculum. It systematically teaches English spelling patterns through stimulating multi-sensory activities based on four key learning styles: visual, aural/oral, kinaesthetic and cognitive. Regular dictation provides children with essential practice at spelling words in context, while quickfire Oddbod and Snip-snap activities/games reinforce and revise learning. The scheme also cross-references NLS programmes such as Spelling Bank, Progression in Phonics and ALS, equipping children with the optimum range of strategies. The Evaluation Booklet outlines all key functions of the Searchlights scheme, and includes the scope and sequence charts for every year covered.
