In the area of the church and its social service there has always been support of individuals in times of physical strength and weakness, in sickness and health, in the dynamic of the entire life with all its ups and downs. The working conditions within the church and the social services however are not always in accordance with salutogenetical standards. For some years now, salutogenesis has become the guiding concept for efforts to improve the working conditions, relations and structures within church and social service in such a way that people can enjoy working there. The aim of the present manual is to promote a responsible design of work within the church according to the principles of salutogenesis.
