Publisher's Synopsis
A short guide for teachers, safety officers and other personnel involved in the practicalities of designing and running biological laboratories. Legally, such teaching and research laboratories are covered by the Health and Safety at Work Act (1974), whose provisions are further explained and supported by a mass of specialist information and advice from various different sources. In this book, nine important areas of laboratory safety are examined by a panel of specialists, under the general editorship of the Institute of Biology, who already have other publications in this field. The aim is to interpret the law in a practical way for the non-expert, and give guidance to further advice and more detailed publications.
