Publisher's Synopsis
This is Volume 3, part 1 of the complete works of St. Cyprian in the original Latin. Cyprian (c. 200 - September 14, 258 CE) was bishop of Carthage and an important Early Church Father. He was born into a wealthy pagan family in North Africa, converted to Christianity in middle age, and became bishop a few years later. He was one of the first bishops of the church to die for his faith. This volume offers scholars and students access to the writings of one of the most influential figures in early Christian history. His works provide invaluable insights into the development of Christian theology and the social and political context of the early Church.
