14-years-old and living very comfortably with her family in a Pennsylvania mansion, Dannie accidentally happens upon a portal transporting her back to 1849, where she becomes an unlikely participant as a member of the Underground Railroad. Knowing her home was an actual hideaway for runaway slaves, Dannie hopes to find the magic she needs to save lives as she transports back and forth between centuries. Even for a magician, saving runaway slaves would be hard, so how can a young black girl from the future grow into her role of the prophesied Little One, whose magic and heart will save thousands?
