The book's author, a 35-year-old multimedia artist and documentary filmmaker from Venice Beach, California stands up, leaves his studio, and takes readers along for the political journey, intimately sharing his quest to become the Democratic Party's candidate for president. To maintain his authenticity, he leaves his long hair uncut, as it was when he decided to run. His gold VW bug is on its last legs as the author's road tripping campaign progresses, and the author articulates his visions for the United States people and the nation's economy that embraces employee-ownership of companies that he envisions as also being employee-run. Along the way, we are with the author as he meets a breadth of characters, learns political truths, and gains supporters in the 1992 Iowa Caucuses and New Hampshire Primary.
