Rubicon Double Cross is about the formative events in the Soviet Occupation of Afghanistan, the emergence of the Ayatollah Khomeini as the defacto ruler of Iran, and the CIA role in both events that led to a clash of cultures and their ways of life. It is about special operators trying to win hearts and minds and failing in that pursuit that leads us now to where we are in the global war on terrors. It is about their methods, their tools, and the things that we taught many who turned out to be jihadists. It is about lessons that failed to be learned. It is fiction, but the reader can decide how real it is.
