Publisher's Synopsis

The area of focus of this book is shoulder and upper extremity and arthroscopy. Identifying and appropriately treating pathology in the rotator interval of the shoulder can be challenging. This region of the shoulder has been associated with both simple anterior dislocations as well as complex shoulder instability. Drs. Provencher and Soloman present a video that will help the viewer identify normal anterosuperior shoulder structures as well as normal variants of labral and middle glenohumeral ligament anatomy, such as sublabral foramen, Buford complex, and a cord-like middle glenohumeral ligament. The video includes tips on how to identify these variances arthroscopically. Following the anatomy review, the authors present the pathology of the rotator interval that is related to instability and introduce tips for arthroscopic treatment. They show a reliable technique for arthroscopic rotator interval closure and include the indications for the procedure. After watching this program, the viewer should be able to better identify and arthroscopically treat rotator interval pathology related to glenohumeral instability.
