Publisher's Synopsis
Robert Fludd, 1574-1637, was a man of diverse talents. A member of the Royal College of Physicians in London, he also set up a large alchemical laboratory, which developed a highly improved form of steel-making for that time. This book contains a selection of extracts from Fludd's numerous publications, illustrating his avant garde thinking during the critical turning point of the 17th century. Included are extracts from Fludd's work on the history of microcosm and macrocosm, the "Magnum Opus", his defence of the Rosicrucians and a list of his friends and patrons including King James I and King Charles I.
