Il avait 17 ans lorsque nous trouvons en 1543 son père Robert fixé à la Croisette du Val d'ajol, où probablement il habitait alors avec lui. Mais les registres de cette commune ne nous donnent aucune indication sur lui, ni sur ses deux frères, qui n'y sont jamais cités, ni comme pères de famille ni comme parrains. Si donc ils y ont habité avant leur ma riege, ce qui est possible, il est bien certain qu'ils n'y ont pas habité après.
