Publisher's Synopsis
This introductory study offers an analysis of the Revisionist History of Islam from the works of John Wansbrough (1977) to Stephen J Shoemaker (2012), This genre questions even the bare facts, for example Islam having originated in Arabia, or that Arabic was the language of the Qureish. Although the findings of Revisionist historians have been subject to mutual criticism, they are being subjected here for the first time to an independent and comprehensive scrutiny, which takes into account the seventh century Greco-Latin sources on Islam, as well as the conclusions derived from them by Revisionist historians.
