Publisher's Synopsis
"What is the Pauline prayer?"
This was a question I asked a friend of mine as a younger Christian. He simply told me it's a prayer that Paul prayed for the churches for revelation knowledge. Then followed my next question, 'What is revelation knowledge?' In a simple way, he said, 'It is the written word beyond the written pages.' I looked at that, and it looked more like a tautology - the written word beyond the written pages. Over the years, I've come to realise the importance of that statement when you garner insight way beyond just reading or memorising what is written in the pages of scripture. Like Paul said in Ephesians 3:3-4, he wrote his revelation to them in few words so that when they read, they might understand. Yet, earlier on in chapter 1, from verses 16 to 23, he prayed for revelation knowledge for the saints of God in Ephesus. This is the cry of this book - for us to see God's word as a revelation that comes to us as we study the written form and get it grounded in our hearts. Why did Paul pray for the churches in Colossae, Philippi, and Ephesus about revelation knowledge, knowledge, and knowing when he had taught them exhaustively over time in the doctrine of Jesus? It, therefore, means that revelation knowledge is our way of not just understanding God's word but also seeing the application and implication in our everyday lives. Thus, this book will answer this cry and go into the very depths of why revelation knowledge is important for a Christian as he studies God's word. So, take a hold of your writing materials and your Bible as we study for revelation knowledge and also receive revelation knowledge in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
