Publisher's Synopsis
Set in present day Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a new technology exists that enables a person to alter (redo) the outcome of an event in the person's past. The problem is that the creation of a new timeline for one person can unintentionally alter the timeline of another, resulting in their injury, death, or never being born (and, therefore, immediately erased from existence). Because of the risks, redo's are only permitted one day each year on what has become known as Redo Day.
Raised in a foster home, Tripp Hayes gave up his dream to become a United States Army Ranger when he met his future wife, Whitney Butler, in an army recruiting office. Now an accountant and father of two girls, Tripp couldn't be happier. Not a fan of redos, on Redo Day, Tripp finds himself escorting his oldest daughter to the downtown world headquarters of CyberCursion, the mega-corporation that owns the redo technology. Tripp's daughter, the winner of the one free redo that year, wants to use her redo to alter an event that killed the husband of a homeless woman. Tripp's life is turned upside down in a moment when his daughter's redo goes terribly wrong and Tripp blacks out. He wakes up in an unfamiliar place, sporting a beard and a very fit physique, neither of which he had just moments earlier. The nightmare continues when Tripp learns that his wife and daughters have not only disappeared, but they no longer exist. Plagued by painful flashbacks of memories that aren't his, and mourning the loss of his family, Tripp struggles to understand who he has become and why all of this has happened. A number of things soon become obvious to Tripp. The first is that CyberCursion is behind whatever has happened to him. The second is that whoever he has become, he now has a unique set of skills that make him a deadly weapon. Another is that he is wanted by the United States government. Finally, CyberCursion wants him eliminated and will stop at nothing to make that happen. Tripp decides to use his newly found skills to take the fight to CyberCursion. He has to infiltrate CyberCursion's headquarters and access its computer network in order to obtain answers. In order to do so, he must avoid CyberCursion's security force and the FBI, as well as the Chinese mafia and Russian mafia who were hired by CyberCursion to take him out. Can Tripp beat the odds and solve the mystery of what happened to him and why? Can he elude the FBI and live long enough to do so? CyberCursion has more contacts and resources than any organization in the world, past or present, and will use everything at its disposal in order to make sure that Tripp fails. After all, its very existence is dependent on it. But there's one thing CyberCursion doesn't count on. That is that Tripp Hayes wants his family back.
