The sugar beet indus try was favorably impressed with the results Of this type Of work and in 1954, under the terms Of a Cooperative Agreement, the Beet Sugar Development Foundation made available $45, 000 for use in equipping a sugar beet processing laboratory located in the Western Utilization Re search and Development Division.
