Using a variety of methodological approaches and research techniques in education, the text Research Methods and Methodologies in Education provides students with the theoretical understandings, practical knowledge and skills which they need to carry out independent research. First chapter presents the research carried out in a municipal early childhood center (MECC) in Curitiba/Parana/Brazil, aiming at the description and the interpretation of a program for teachers' continuing education in early childhood education with the adoption of metacognitive methodology. Second chapter focuses on projects as a method of training, teaching and research education. A modified agile methodology for an ERP academic project development has been presented in third chapter. Fourth chapter deals with the methodology for part visualization problem solving. In fifth chapter, we present a conspectus of the main issues that may confront researchers. Historical and documentary research has been proposed in sixth chapter. Surveys, longitudinal, cross-sectional and trend studies have been presented in last chapter.
