Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Report on Home Missions: Presbytery of Hamilton
From these simple statements it will be obvious those who are in any measure acquainted with t country, how extensive a field of Home Missionary labour was, and still of this Presby tery. It is believed that no other Colony.has so great an amount of tion pressing on its sympathies and exertions. And it is a most material point in the case, which ought to be kept steadily in View by all concerned - by the parent Church and the Synod, as well as by the ministers and congregations of the Presbytery of Hamilton - that the Districts included within the bounds of that Presbytery, on account ofthe peculiar and well known advantages which they afford as to climate, soil, and extent of unsettled lands, must con stitute the principle scene of immigrant settlement for many years to come.
