Excerpt from Report of the Bank of the United States, to the Committee of Ways and Means of the House of Representatives: January 28, 1833
I take the occasion to express the great satisfaction of the Treasury Department at the manner in Which the President and Directors of the parent Bank have discharged their trusts in all their immediate relations to the Government, so far as their transactions have come under my notice, and especially in the facilities afforded in transferring the funds of the Government, and in the preparation for the heavy payment of the public debt.
