Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Report of a Visitation of the Syria Mission of the Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions: March 20 April 26, 1902
When American missionaries first entered the country in 1819, these privileges were extended to them. The Treaty of 1830 did not confer new rights, but simply recognized those which the missionaries already enjoyed, in expressly guaran teeing the right of American missionaries to live and work in Turkey.
