Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Remarks on the Synonyms of the New Testament, Vol. 1
The inspiration of the Sacred Scriptures is either a fact, substantiated by ample testimony, or a miserable fallacy, which should be openly and utterly repudiated, as calculated only to de lude. Such, however, is the accumulation of evidence on this point, that the former alterna tive must be unequivocally admitted by every educated and unprejudiced man; and the latter, or indeed any approximation to a doubt on the subject, entirely renounced. The canonical books of the Old and New Testament are the word of the living God.
