After timber harvest, intense radiation, high temperatures, summer drought, drying winds, cold temperatures, and frosts are common obstacles to the reestablishment of conifers. Success of reforestation varies greatly, but the locations and situations where tree establishment is difficult or easy are not sufficiently identified.
