About Reflections on the Black Experience in AmericaThis collection of poems is a reflection of my life experiences from my youth until the present day. They are also reflections of the life experiences of my ancestors and many Blacks in America. They reflect challenges, struggles, and accomplishments of our past and present. Our past is something we must continuously learn from and we must build upon the lessons learned. In spite of the many obstacles our ancestors had to overcome, they were still able to achieve significant accomplishments. Knowing this should be a source of pride, inspiration, and motivation for us to continue the work necessary to make America a country committed to improving the Black Experience in America.
