This book is the second in a three-part series on the Christian life, offered primarily as a resource for faith formation. The first book, Reflections on God, sought to lay a theological foundation for all that followed. Reflections on Daily Living is an effort of making sure that the Biblical faith is interpreted and appropriated to day-to-day life experience. If the first book was primarily theological, this book is primarily existential, totally grounded in the grit and grim of life. The sermons selected for this book are meant to address some of the basic questions that human beings are forced to answer. Why is there suffering? How do I show love? How do I avoid the rat race? Can I accept the mind, body, and spirit that God has given me? How can I discover the best use of my talents? How do I avoid rampant self-interest? How do I cope with the basic vulnerability of life? How can I learn to let go of things that will hold me back?
