Publisher's Synopsis
We were raised in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and 1970s in a Navy family where Dad started his career as a sailor in WWII, and mom stayed home to care for the ten children. Mom managed the home as Dad rose through the ranks as a Navy chaplain, reaching the rank of captain. The ten Linzey children were born over the span of sixteen years with the elder kids helping to raise the younger ones. With so many children and such a wide age span, the younger ones hardly knew the older ones and vice versa. Darnelle passed from this life in the year 2000, and George passed in 2020, but the rest of us interact as much as time, distance, and schedules allow. However, our personal journeys led us to venture out on our own, dispersing across the country and creating families, careers, and diverse life experiences. We share these memories and reflections of our journeys for the enjoyment of our children, grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended relatives, and friends. Our lives have been meaningful, eventful, and full of adventure, to say the least.
Read about our survival in the mountains in Yosemite National Park, escaped a fearful encounter in a Greyhound bus, theft in St. Petersburg, and much more.
