Publisher's Synopsis

Conventional building materials such as synthetic and mineral insulating materials are common in renovation work today. Moreover, only classical constructions are used in the rehabilitation. This work deals specifically with some types of joints of building components based on innovative joining techniques that are used in combination with sustainable materials such as thermal insulation made from renewable raw materials. In this context, thermal roof, wall, window and basement renovation is very much addressed. In addition, this thesis deals with the renovation work carried out on the housing complex at Mautner- Markhof- Gasse 10 in 1110 Vienna. For this purpose, some examples are illustrated with the help of the plans provided by the company Leyrer + Graf for the renovation work of the housing complex. With the help of recyclable constructions, an attempt is made to achieve the lowest possible environmental impact during construction. Furthermore, the recyclable constructions are contrasted and compared to the conventional construction method.
