MY father, samuel howard, of Boston, Mass, was unknown to fame, until his name appeared on the roll of history, with those who overthrew the tea in Boston Harbor, Dec. 16, 1773.
There has always been a tradition in our family of his participation in the act; and one of the ao counts is, that some tea remaining in his boots was scattered on the hearth, that one of the family tried to gather it up, when another ran for a broom and swept it into the fire.
