Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Recollections of My Life and Work at Home and Abroad: In Connection With the Wesleyan Methodist Conference
HE reader will please to observe that the writer of the following pages does not desire to make himself the subject of a history. He would be doing himself an injustice by writing a short and incomplete account of a long and busy life. He is unwilling to run the risk of becoming tedious, while venturing to be diffuse; and is, moreover, now conscious that it would be unwise to prolong his tale after his hand has lost its cunning, and cannot, as aforetime, wield the pen.
