Publisher's Synopsis
The Rev. Henry Smith (1769-1862) published letters in The Christian Advocate and Journal and The Western Christian advocate in the early 1800's and then had them republished in book form in 1848 and 1854, under the title Recollections and Reflections of An Old Itinerant. The early editions have been widely used by church historians in research regarding the early Methodist Episcopal Church. This 2014 annotated version provides biographical information on Henry Smith as well as an index to his original letters with names, places, and themes that will assist in historical research on early American Methodism.
