Publisher's Synopsis
The continual increase in demand for electricity and the increasing environmental concerns require a large increase in electricity generation from renewable sources. This paradigm change in the operation of conventional power systems offers several technical and operational challenges to the conventional power systems that need to be addressed. A variety of new techniques being investigated and developed by researchers are described in this Reprint and should provide an impetus to further these technologies in a meaningful way.
