Read the Notes Workbook is written in response to the needs of students to facilitate the process of learning and reading notes at the initial phase of studying to play a musical instrument. According to the range of notes that are learned, this version of the book is designed for flute and oboe beginners. The workbook should be used as a supplementary material, accompanying any Flute or Oboe Method books. The primary purpose of this workbook is to develop in students the ability to analyze simple music text. Exercises are designed to teach students not only to recognize the notes taken separately, but to see the relationships between them. Students learn to pay attention to the direction of the musical line, the interval of the melodic steps, repeated notes, patterns and phrases. All these skills lay the foundation for fluency in sight reading.
