Publisher's Synopsis
Everyone begins as a Layman. Everyone is on a journey. Many of our journeys intersect. When those intersections occur, we engage in some way. Whether by intention or by happenstance, whether by omission or by commission, we engage and have an impact on each other. This is where lessons are learned, or at least, lessons are available if we choose to observe and learn them. It is easy to ignore lessons that were carefully crafted for us...in fact maybe we often do ignore them. I've tried with great diligence to learn lessons along my particular path . . . to learn to distinguish good from bad, proper from improper, hope from despair, how to engage and when not to. This book is a partial expression of those lessons gained from engagement with others whom I've encountered thus far.
These lessons are shared as a book because I wanted them to endure. I also wanted to convey, through their enduring nature, that we can commit to the knowledge of how to interact, how to hope, how to plan, and how to persevere. I wanted readers to be able to study the lessons I have learned, unwrap these lessons in their own contexts, and build upon them or reject them. Whichever the case may be, the reader may discover something new about themself or the world within which they live and occupy space and time with others whom they will encounter along their journey.
I started with nothing and will hopefully leave something for others to build upon. This was my journey, and this book is part of it.
