Publisher's Synopsis

In 1964 radio stations had names like the Light Programme, the Home Service, and the Third. In the main they played stuffy music although there was 'Pick of the Pops' and on television a programme called 'Top of the pops' had just started. There was also Radio Luxembourg but reception was often poor. When Radio Caroline began broadcasting as an all day music station it started a revolution in radio entertainment and popular music. More stations followed in its wake and sales of radios quadrupled as a result. Although pirate stations came and went, Radio Caroline outlasted the others. It survived storms, drifting, piracy, rebellion and the loss of her ship, the 'Mi Amigo'. Originally published in 2003 this new edition has minor revisions and is now available again after a long absence.
