Excerpt from Racial and Ethnic Enrollment Data From Institutions of Higher Education: Fall 1970
This publication presents racial and ethnic enrollment data for institutions of higher education that responded to hew's Fall 1970 Civil Rights Survey of Institutions of Higher Education conducted by the Office for Civil Rights. The survey covered institutions located in the forty-eight coterminous states and the District of Columbia. Institutions receiving or expecting to receive some form of Federal financial assistance were asked to report full-time students-defined as persons enrolled and taking credits equal to at least 75% of a normal load - and were instructed to submit individual reports for each geographically separate branch or campus. The method of data collection was left to the discretion of the institu tion. (the report form used for the fall 1970 survey is reproduced in the Appendix.)
