Wie im entsprechenden Mischnatraktat, jedoch mit anderer Akzentsetzung, geht es dabei etwa um Fragen des Tragens zwischen verschiedenen "Bereichen", von Sabbatlampe und -herd, des "Ausgehens" mit bestimmten Gegenstanden oder von Mindestmassen, bei denen man schuldig wird; ferner wird z. B. diskutiert, was man aus einer Feuersbrunst retten oder am Sabbat "fortbewegen" darf. Uber die Mischna hinausgehend, finden die dort nur knapp erwahnten "Amoriterbrauche", d. h. verbotene magische Praktiken, breite Berucksichtigung.
