Publisher's Synopsis

Following the death of King Raygard, Plateihf has been divided into four regions governed by dukes (governors). But when Gariode, Raygard's brother, ascends the throne shortly afterwards under the influence of his demon wife Shamira, Dana begins to suspect foul play from Shamira who now rules Plateihf with an iron fist while using her husband as a puppet king. Shamira offers the dukes an ultimatum-pledge allegiance to her and continue their term in office or perish. Dana, the blind duchess of the east, whose fame is known throughout the world because of her wisdom and knowledge of the Arts decides to rebel against the tyrannical queen and also clear her name as being separate from the assassin dressed in black (named the Black Panther) who had murdered the noble King Raygard. Shamira adopts a son and is keen to find the Lazarus rune by which she can resurrect the power of a fallen wraith and transfer it to her son and cover Plateihf in darkness forever. As creatures from the wraith world begin to materialize in the mortal realm, Dana realizes that their time is limited, and empowered by the evil eye residing in her palm, she seeks to end Shamira's reign.
